Thanksgiving 2009

We went to celebrate Thanksgiving at Mom and Dad's...Everyone was there and we had fun...I am thankful for my children, my family and all the support they have given me......I love everyone!

Hiking

Emil and I have been hiking lately. We have been in several places at the Sequoia National Park. The latest of our hikes was the Muir Trail. It was an easy trail and Nate and I had our first bear encounter. It was a mixed feelings of being scared and excited at the same time. Although I was petrified because it was quite shaking to see a bear so close to us, I was excited because it was my first real sight of a bear. I am just glad it was not a Mama Bear with Cubs. I was leading the way back and all of the suden I heard something moving in some bushes. I turned my head and I see a black ball of fur moving up the mountain. Next thing I see is a black bear coming out of the bushes. I thought I was going to die! I stopped Emil and Nate and we sat quiet to see what it was going to be his next move. He was giving us his back and all of the sudden he turned, saw us and sat in place for few seconds. Then, he started moving along the trail towards us. Emil started yelling, then I started yelling. He stopped in front of us and looked at us one more time. Then, he gave us a face like "I am not wasting my time with you today!" Then, he turned and continued his path towards the top of the mountain. I was relief when I saw him turning and going up. Once we were sure he was going on his way, we continued our path to finish our trip. Emil took two pictures of the bear as he was heading up the mountain. We also saw people running toward the mountain as we were leaving Lodgepole. There was another bear sight. As we were driving down the mountain, we saw cars stopped. As I turned my head up, there was another black bear making his way up the mountain. Three bear sights in one day! This mean there is a lot of bear activity in the mountains and we have to be at the look out every time we go hiking.

Emil y yo hemos estado escalando las montanas. Hemos ido a various lugares en el Parque Nacional de Los Sequoias. El ultimo lugar que visitamos fue la ruta de Muir. Fue una ruta facil y Nate y yo tuvimos nuestro primer encuentro con un oso. Tuve sentimientos encontrados de susto y emocion al mismo tiempo. A pesar de que estaba petrificada de ver un oso tan cerca de nosotros, fue emocionante ver por primera vez un oso en su ambiente natural. Me alegra de que no fue una Mama Oso con sus Cachorros. Estaba liderizando el camino de regreso cuando escuche los arbustos moverse. Movi la cabeza y enfoque mi mirada a los arbustos y veo una masa de pelo negro moviendose. De pronto sale el oso desde adentro de los arbustos. Pense que iba a morir! Pare a Emil y Nate y nos quedamos quietos para ver cual iba a ser su proximo movimiento. Estaba dandonos su espalda, de pronto se volteo y se quedo sentado viendonos por unos segundos. Luego empezo a caminar al raz de la ruta hacia nosotros. Emil empezo a gritar y yo lo segui. El oso se paro en frente de nosotros y se nos quedo mirando otros segundos mas. Nos hizo una cara como diciendo "No voy a perder mi tiempo con ustedes hoy!" Luego se volteo y siguio su camino hacia la cima de la montana. Me dio un fresquito ver que se volteo y siguio su camino alejandose de nosotros poco a poco. Una vez que estuvimos seguros de que seguiria sus pasos, nosotros nos fuimos alejando y seguimos nuestro camino. Emil pudo tomar dos fotos mientras el oso subia hacia la cima de la montana. Tambien vimos unas personas corriendo hacia la montana cuando nos ibamos de Lodgepole. Habia otro oso merodeando el campamento. Tambien cuando ibamos de regreso para la casa, nos tuvimos que parar porque habian varios carros parados en el camino. Cuando voltee my cabeza para mirar cual era la conmocion, habia otro oso merodeando en la montana a lo largo del camino. Tres encuentros con osos en un dia! Esto quiere decir que hay mucha actividad de osos en la montana y que tenemos que tener mucha precaucion cuando vamos de paseo.

A long time

It has been a long time since I have written on this space...and a lot had happened...The twins are now 10 1/2 months old. Max is walking and Isabel is following his steps...They are so cute...Nate took off for a full month to go back to Wisconsin with his Grandma...We joined him and spent a week with him in Philadelphia...He has grown a lot...He is back home and back on track...now he gets to spend the rest of the Summer with Mom and Dad...and then back to School...Enjoy our latest pictures...

Ha pasado un largo tiempo desde que escribi la ultima vez en este espacio...y ha pasado mucho...Los Morochos tienen 10 meses y medio. Max esta caminando e Isable le esta siguiendo los pasos...Nathan se fue por un mes para Wisconsin con la abuela...Nos encontramos con el en Philadelphia...El ha crecido mucho...El regreso a la casa y ahora tiene que volver a la rutina...Ahora le toca pasar el resto del Verano con Mama y Papa...y luego de vuelta al Colegio...Disfruten nuestras ultimas fotos...

The babies are eating solid foods now. So, we had some fun buying some of the purees yesterday...Em also cooked a wonderful, Yummy soup today...It was delicious! I love when he cooks...He is a really good Cook!

Los bebés están comiendo purees ahora. Así que nos divertimos ayer comprando alguno de los purees...Em también cocinó una sopa divina hoy...Estuvo deliciosa! Me encanta cuando él cocina...El es un buen Cocinero!

A Day to Celebrate

It's my Birthday today. So, we have been celebrating! The day could not be more beautiful...It is sunny and the temperature is just right...not too cold and not too hot...Thank you God! My husby cooked for me and one of his friends came with his family...We will be celebrating with the rest of the family later...Double celebration...Yahoo!

Es mi Cumpleaños hoy. Así que estuvimos celebrando! El día no pudo estar mas bonito...Está asoleado y la temperatura es perfecta...no muy fría y no muy caliente...Gracias a Dios! Mi esposo cocinó para mi y uno de sus amigos vino a cenar con su familia...Celebraremos con el resto de la familia luego...Celebracion doble....Yahoo!

6 Months

MY 3 BUNDLES OF JOY!!!

The babies turned out 6 months yesterday. It is amazing how the time goes by so fast! They are growing strong every day. They discovered their feet, so now they take it to their mouth any chance they have. They are eating solid foods as of yesterday and are getting ready to crawl...The only thing I would like them to do is to hold their bottle...That will be a huge help for us at night...Although, I still enjoy having them in my arms and feeding them...

Los bebes cumplieron 6 meses ayer. Es increible como el tiempo pasa tan rápido! Están creciendo fuertes cada día. Descubrieron sus pies, asi que ahora se los ponen en la boca cada vez que pueden. Están comiendo pures desde ayer y están preparándose para gatear...Lo único que me gustaría que hicieran es agarrar el tetero...Eso nos ayudaría mucho durante la noche...aunque todavía disfruto cargarlos para darles de comer...

Update!

Isa and Max are growing...They have a bouncer that they like a lot...Soon enough they will be crawling all over the place...and we will be bussier trying to baby proof the house...Nate is doing grate at school and piano...Still trying to excel on TaeKwenDo and hoping to test by next month to get his yellow belt...

Isa y Max estan creciendo...Tienen un nuevo juguete que les gusta mucho...Pronto estaran gateando por toda la casa...y nosotros estaremos ocupados tratando de preparar la casa para sus gateos...Nate tiene mucho progreso en sus clases y en el piano...Todavia estamos tratando de avanzar en TaeKwenDo y esperamos que le hagan la prueba el proximo mes para obtener su cinturon amarillo....

Cinco Meses

Our little Max and Isa are 5 months today...They have changed a lot...Both are rolling over and teething...They are more interactive with people...they laugh a lot but they also can recognize familiar faces and if you are not familiar, then they cry a lot!

Nuestros bebés cumplen 5 meses hoy...Ellos han cambiado mucho...Los dos se voltean y los dientes le están saliendo...Están más interactivos con las personas...se ríen mucho pero también reconocen las caras familiares...si no eres familiar, entoces lloran mucho!

Snowboarding!

Nate and I went snowboarding today...Yes, SNOWBOARDING for the first time! It was FUN! Not to mention that the weather was awesome and the drive was terrific! We wore jackets to avoid getting wet with the snow because we were on our buts most of the time we tried to get down the beginners hill...but the weather was so nice that at the end we took our jackets off and did not feel cold at all...I LOVED going to the Sierra National Park. I did not know how much I was missing! I liked it better than the Sequoias National Park. The road is more scenic. We stopped and took some pictures at Shaver Lake and Huntington Lake...The Hungtington Lake was frozen...This is the first time I see a frozen lake in my life...I come from the tropics...No frozen lakes over there! Nate and I had a awesome time...I want to go back with my husby to go to the SNO-Park to slide with the sleds...We missed him and the babies today....

Nate y yo fuimos a hacer snowboarding hoy...Si, SNOWBOARDING por primera vez! Estuvo DIVERTIDO! Ni mencionar que el tiempo estuvo buenisimo y el manejo estuvo terrifico! Nos pusimos las chaquetas porque no queriamos estar mojados con la nieve porque estuvimos en nuestro rabo mientras descendiamos la montaña de los novatos...pero el tiempo estaba tan bueno que al final nos quitamos las chaquetas y no nos sentiamos frios para nada...Me GUSTO MUCHISIMO ir al Parque Nacional Sierra. No sabia cuanto estaba perdiendo! Me gusto más que el Parque Nacional de Sequoias. El camino es más pintoresco. Nos paramos y tomamos unas fotos en el Lago Shaver y el Lago Huntington...El Lago Hungtington estaba congelado...Esta es la primera vez que yo veo un lago congelado en mi vida...Yo soy del trópico...Los lagos no se congelan allá! Nate y yo nos divertimos muchsímo...Quiero regresar con mi esposito para ir al Parque-SNO para deslizarnos con los tablas para la nieve...Lo extrañamos a él y a los bebés hoy...

The Twins

The twins are 4 months and 12 days today. They have come a long way. They sleep 6 - 8 hours at night. They usually fall sleep without any issues. Although sometimes Isa wants your attention until she falls sleep. So Nate, as the good big brother that he is, usually stands by her crib putting her pinky on while he reads a magazine or a book and she falls sleep. Nate is an amazing son and I know he will be an awesome father someday! You can see that Isa almost roll over and Max is very talkative. Both are teething, so they get anything they can get hands on their mouth. The fingers do the job until they stick it too far and choke on them...LOL.

Los morochos son 4 meses y 12 dias hoy. Han crecido mucho. Duermen 6 - 8 horas en la noche. Usualmente se duermen sin ningún problema. Aunque aveces Isa quiere atención hasta que se duerme. Asi que Nate, como el buen hermano que es, usualmente se para a un lado de la cuna y le da el chupón mientras él lee una revista o un libro y ella se queda dormida. Nate es un gran hijo y yo se que algun día sera un buen papá! Pueden ver a Isa casi volteándose y Max esta muy hablador. Los dientes les estan saliendo a los dos, asi que se ponen en la boca cualquier cosa que puedan agarrar. Aveces los dedos funcionan muy bien para meterselos en la boca hasta que se los llevan muy adentro y se ahogan con ellos...Je,je,je.

Four Months

Max and Isa turned 4 months on Monday (01/05/2009)...They are growing fast...Max is 15 Lbs and is already teething...Isa is 13 Lbs and is starting to show signs of wanting to turn around...They sleep through the night...Yeah! I get enough sleep...but I have to get up early...I know that one day I will be able to snooze...in few years...LOL...

Max e Isa complieron 4 meses el Lunes (05/01/2009)...Estan creciendo rápido...Max es 7.5 Kgs y le está saliendo un diente...Isa es 6.5 Kgs y está enseñando signos de querer voltearse...Duermen toda la noche...Yeah! Duermo lo suficiente...pero me tengo que levantar temprano...Se que algun día podré dormir hasta tarde...dentro de algunos años...Je,je,je...

A Visit From Far Away

My cousin Claudia came to visit after New Years. She lives in Switzerland and was visiting her brother who lives in Arizona...So, she jumped on a plane and came to meet the new addition to our family...Isa and Max...and to see Nate...It was fun having her around!

Mi prima Claudia vino después de Año Nuevo. Ella vive en Suiza y estaba visitando a su hermano en Arizona...Así que se montó en un avión y vino a visitar la nueva adición de nuestra familia...Isa y Max...y a ver a Nate...Nos divertimos con ella de visita!
